The Victims of Crime Act of 1984 (VOCA) created the Crime Victims Fund as a special account to provide critical funding dedicated solely to helping millions of victims of crimes every year.
VOCA state victim assistance supports direct services, such as emergency shelter, crisis intervention, sexual assault exams, counseling, therapy and assistance in participating in the criminal justice system.
